About Us
An iconic cornerstone of the historic downtown Cartersville community, the Cartersville School of Ballet has nurtured young minds since 1972. The talented and experienced instructors guide students in every step of their dance training, beginning with creative movement games and the foundations of ballet and tap dancing. Students follow a detailed curriculum that expands to include contemporary classes, hip hop, jazz and pointe work as students progress. They learn to combine self-expression with discipline and to develop valuable skills of coordination, rhythm and self-confidence. The school’s curriculum is based on a nine-month program (September through May) that culminates in an end-of-the-year Student Concert on stage and in costume. Specialty camps and programs are offered during the summer months.

The Cartersville School of Ballet’s annual Student Concert is the culmination of each dance year. It is held in May at the Grand Theatre and is a highly anticipated event for every student. Each concert is a fully narrated show during which each class portrays a piece of the story. Previous productions include “Beauty and the Beast,” “Swan Lake,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Wizard of Oz,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Charlotte’s Web,” “Coppelia,” “Snow White “ and “The Little Mermaid.” Every student at Cartersville School of Ballet is invited to participate in the Student Concert.
